Radio IKIM is the only mainstream Malaysian online radio station with an Islamic approach. It broadcasts 24 hours a day, every day throughout the country, including Sabah and Sarawak. History

Radio IKIM which was previously known as IKIM FM. It was officially launched by the then Prime Minister, Dr Mahathir Mohamad on 6 July 2001. Starting as the only domestic radio operating using a fully digital system. Radio IKIM took steps to be the country’s only Islamic radio, broadcasting 24 hours a day.  IKIM FM has successfully done that not only in Malaysia, but even for Muslims across the globe. Muslims from more than 100 countries can access the radio and listen to its world-class Islamic programs.

Throughout the years since its inception, Radio IKIM has gradually expanded its coverage, thus expanding its reach across Malaysia. Muslims from Malaysia and across the globe loves to tune the radio, thus making it one of the best Islamic radio in the world. Nielsen, an international survey company, in 2010 disclosed that around 786,000 listeners in Peninsular Malaysia follow this Islamic radio. In June 2016, Radio IKIM upgraded the transmission frequency of Kedah and Perlis FM 89.0. IKIM FM changed its broadcasting frequency throughout the years.

It can be heard in Singapore, the Batam islands in Indonesia, Brunei and in parts of southern Thailand.

IKIM FM airs its programs with the core vision to spread the Islamic understanding to the Malaysian and world Muslim community. The goal of Radio IKIM is to convey the true understanding of Islam through radio broadcasting and digital media.  IKIM FM’s programming includes a variety of shows, including religious talks, news, current affairs in context of Islam, and Islamic entertainment. The station also features a number of special programs, such as its Ramadan programming and its Hari Raya Aidilfitri programming. The station provides a platform for Muslims to learn about their faith, and it also provides a space for Muslims to connect with each other. IKIM FM is a positive force in Malaysian society, and it plays an important role in promoting Islamic values. Radio IKIM has recorded its listeners number passing one million mark and the loyalty of Radio IKIM listeners is increasing every year.

About 95{60297c3c1f31c932e6d9e222881b19d68abc8a6c613ff5fa51397582320704f4} of the program is presented in Malay, while the rest is in Arabic and English.

Presenters

All the presenters of the radio are very well-connected with listeners. Since being managed by Dj Faiz from the beginning of 2012. Remaja has not only succeeded in stealing the hearts of many teenagers but also from various age groups. This is proven when a Nielsen study recorded that Teenagers once reached a total of 110,000 listeners from various age groups. What is even prouder, an average of 22,000 listeners will continue to faithfully listen to Remaja for 1 hour. All of its presenters has their own fan followers.
