History
It started ss one of the State run Radio Stations under Radio Television Malaysia (RTM). MINNAL FM was originally born under the name Radio Malaysia Kawasan Tengah (RMKT) in January 1982. It was renamed to Radio Malaysia Selangor on 31 August 1998 after several name changes and update. Later, on April 1, 2005, the RTM Rebranding Program renamed all 32 RTM radio stations. Radio Malaysia Selangor became MINNAL FM after that. That moment marked the beginning of all the changes to the programs and their presentation at MINNAL. The MINNAL FM Reintroduction Launch Ceremony took place on June 19, 2005.
The station’s name, Minnal, means “people” in Tamil. The station’s tagline, “Your Voice, Our Station”, reflects its commitment to providing a platform for Malaysian Indians to express themselves and share their stories.
Minnal FM has been praised for its commitment to quality programming and its role in promoting Indian culture in Malaysia. The station has won numerous awards, including the Anugerah Seri Angkasa (ASA) for Best Radio Station in 2008, 2010, and 2012.

The channel transmits on 96.7 MHz in Perlis, Kedah, and Penang, and 107.9 MHz in Taiping, Perak. The station transmits on 98.9 MHz in Ipoh, Perak, and 90.5 MHz in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. The channel transmits on 103.3 MHz in Malacca and Northern Johor.
